Through the years, Jorge has definitively established his reputation as one of the main characters fusing Latin/Funk, Soul & Disco in the UK scene and rest of the world.
Having worked alongside producers & DJ’s of the caliber of Joey Negro, Jazzy B (Soul II Soul), Norman Jay (Good Times) & Craig Charles (The Funk & Soul Show BBC6) in between others, Jorge has develop a very eclectic vision of Djing as well as producing music.
Jorge is also the Co-Founder of the infamous Latin/Funk band Los Charly’s Orchestra as well as many other musical projects such as The Boogie Man, J&J Edits & Andre Espeut’s Quintet in between others.
Born in Venezuela, Jorge started his career as a music entrepreneur the age of 18 when he started his sound system – The Smoke Brothers. The sound system quickly became one of the most established of Caracas Venezuela, incorporating a weekly Radio program on Hot 94.1 FM plus a residency on two of the main nocturnal spots of Caracas.
By the end of the year 1999 Jorge moved to London UK following his interest in music business & production.
Having finished his Audio Engineering studies in London UK, Jorge started his record company: IMAGENES.CO.UK – RECORDINGS In partnership with his old friend Juan Laya. Ever since Jorge, has been forging a practical expression of his musical philosophy of “Making Groovy Music” as a DJ and a producer.
From the early days of Latin/Funk, Soul and Disco Jorge’s DJ session moves along a whole musical range whilst keeping a firm grip with the current influences of the contemporary music scene.
“My style is an eclectic mix that takes influences from both, the old and the new school and merges then into one”.
Jorge has DJ alongside some of main figures of the music scene, and on the production side of things, He has also worked in collaborations with some of the most prolific producers of the current scene such as: Joey Negro, Pete Herbert, Jose Padilla, etc.
Over the past few years Jorge has DJ across many cities around the world spreading his musical motto including Tokyo, Shanghai, Sydney, Melbourne, Caracas, New York, Bali & Ibiza, and still continues moving around defusing his musical philosophy.
